How we learn

We offer upper division undergraduate and graduate classes in various ML/AI aspects.

Classes offered

Undergraduate level courses:

Graduate level courses:

  • ECS 270: Artificial Intelligence.
  • ECS 271: Machine Learning.
  • ECS 289G: Deep Learning.
  • ECS 289N: Computer Vision.

How to join

The ML&AI group has various openings for all levels of seniority.

  • Undergraduate students: Exceptionally strong undergraduate students with adequate preparation in machine learning and statistics are often offered position in our labs, where they work together with more experienced lab members. If you are interested, please contact directly the faculty member you are interested to work with. It always help to include your CV and a copy of your transcript so we can better assess if our interests are aligned. Please note that we do not support undergraduate students from universities abroad, unless there is an official fellowship agreement.
  • Graduate students: Prospective graduate students should apply directly to the UC Davis Computer Science MSc. or Ph.D. program. Note that the graduate program is very competitive with more than 1000 applications and around 30-40 successful applicants each year.
  • Visiting scholars: Visiting scholars with external support should contact directly the faculty member that they would like to serve as their host. If from international institutions, bear in mind that there is a lengthy visa process that can take up to 6 months.
